Check out the 3 pertinent ideas of A.A. in the A.B.C's if you agree with them you will understand people places and things can easily divert us.
Just because God lives within each and everyone of us does not make someone God
that's what makes it a discovery as we tap an unsuspected inter resource that can intuitively handle situations that use to baffle us. The we in the program is God and ones personal willingness. Anything outside of that is not what A.A. is about but what someone is telling another rather than sharing the language of the heart the message.
