haven't read the whole thread, I'm just chiming in to agree w/Uny. As a sometimes garlic grower(gotta put more in this fall), I can tell y'all that NOTHING is more cleansing than FRESH garlic. Whole different animal than anything stored, light-years away from any extracts...

BTW, garlic's an easy grower. Filaree farms has great varieties. I like polish hardneck.
