Day 7 of fast

Hello there, first time posting. Just been lurking for a couple of weeks. I used to fast in my 20's to "cleanse" and lose weight and thought since I am looking at 40 soon that it is fast time! I never had a weight problem until my pregnancies and eclampsia. I was put on steriods which completely re-wired my metabolism and now could not get below 160 to save my life. Then a light bulb moment: I used to have great success with fasting so why not try it again! So here I am. Here are my stats since I know I like to watch everyone elses progress too. (Oh, I must say I am obsessed with the scale and weigh myself in the am and pm. After I break 150 I am going to only look every 4 days!

Five Foot-Seven Inches
SW: 163
CW: 153
GW: 130

I am hoping to do 30 days. I have been mostly water with some tea and when I am really hungry I get a 1/2 cup of broth and mix water and pop into the microwave. (I have only done this twice in 7 days) Hardest time for me is feeding my 2yr old his dinner. I don't get hungry at breakfast or lunch but around 6pm to 10pm is when I have to play games to keep me from breaking this fast.

Maybe this will help with some of you who struggle but when I was very sick in the hospital I had to undergo many "procedures" with little or no pain medicine due to my condition and the way I got through it was to keep repeating: "THIS WILL NOT KILL ME. THIS LITTLE NEEDLE WILL NOT KILL ME AND I WILL GET THRU THIS!" Well, I just startting saying the same when I am so hungry. I keep telling myself: THE FOOD WILL BE THERE WHEN I GET DONE WITH THIS FAST. THE FOOD IS NOT GOING AWAY IF YOU CAN'T HAVE IT FOR 30 DAYS!" It just seems to help that when I see my husband eating my favorite French Dips and I want to rip it out of his hands that there will be another French Dip down the road and best to walk away from this one!

Anyway, I really appreciate this forum and I have to agree that most people do not understand Fasting and I have heard all kinds of negativity. Especially the "you will put your body in starvation mode and you will gain weight" Only my husband knows in case of emergency but no one else!

Overall, I feel pretty good. I just stopped having my morning coffee which I am missing but want to cleanse my body and know it something that I can give up for now.

Hang in there and I will be reading your posts for strength too :0)
