Re: My Experience with Bentonite/Psyllium...

Hi *StarBrite,

It's hard to say for sure if you have the powdered or the whole husk. Both of them are powder, but the powdered is a finer powder and with the whole husks you can actually see the little husks that have been removed from the psyllium. (Was that totally confusing or what...LOL?!!!) Most psyllium is the powdered form so it's probably safe to assume that is what you have. As for the flavoring...if it's natural orange flavoring it wouldn't make a difference PROVIDED that there isn't anything else in it. A lot of flavored fibers also contain sweeteners or other ingredients that...at the least would not be beneficial, and could possibly contribute to problems ie. candida. Some brands also slip in herbal laxatives (usually senna or cascara sagrada) which are not good because they irritate the bowel and can cause dependence.

I KNOW what you mean about the smell...it is foul!!! This is another sign that you are getting some older stuff out...but not the oldest. With a healthy digestive system that is functioning well fecal material will have little odor. When it has hung out a bit too long it begins to putrify and often smells really bad. When you eliminate the really old mucoid plaque it is post-putrifactive and often has little or no odor...but you can tell it's not newer fecal material because of the texture, color &/or shape. Putrifactive and post-putrifactive material is a gourmet banquet for parasites so you may be eliminating some critters, too.

Since you get so much relief from taking enemas, by all means take more of them. colonics would be even more beneficial... although I recall reading that you had a bad experience with them (don't know why, though).

Also remember that it can take months to clean out the old mucoid plaque. I understand not wanting to bother with it while you are on vacation (lucky you!), however, if you are starting to eliminate some of the rubbery, ropey gunk you might want to stick with it...or at least resume the cleanse when you get back home.

Have a great trip! ; )

BTW...thanks for the kind words, and no need to apologize...I'm just glad I can help!
