Re: celiac/food intolerances and the liver

Thank you for your concern.

I am not too bothered that my GP (doctor) is unwilling to carry our any diagnostic testing for celiac until I meet a set of condition that says he can. My blood works are fine, no deficiencies and no abnormalities but if I am a category 3 or 4 celiac then they wont.

After several months of pondering and having a break from anything health related I am starting to go gluten and lactose free today. In preparation I have been eating plenty of bread etc. Originally because I thought my doctor would agree to a celiac test but now I will be able to detect contrasting changes more easily. I have observed in the past that low carb and food combining diets make me feel more comfortable and this may have been because of a gluten intolerance.

Commonly it is thought that celiac disease affects the proximal intestine; in other words the intestines closest to the duodenum but some medical research has shown that it is just a likely to affect the distal intestines (The part furthest away, near the colon). If is affects the ilius then without doubt fat absorption and cholesterol cycling will be altered. This results in changed chemistry and this increase the chances of bile clogging.

If you read through some of the gluten Support Forums you will find out how common it is for celiacs to have had their gallbladders removed......
