My fasts so far

MY FASTS SO FAR

Years ago I did a number of master cleanses (10-day lemonade fasts). They were ok but I didn't really see any marked improvement to be honest, and I wasn't someone who wanted to lose weight. I did The Master Cleanse because someone told me to fast, what I didn't know at the time was that all fasts are not equal!

My water-only fasting journey has been great, but it's been intense. The entire process has been longer than I wanted because I have a job and the cleansing is so intense that it knocks me out after day 2. There is no way I could work during my last two fasts. "Hey Bob (my boss), can I just lay my head down on my keyboard for 3 hours? ok, thanks!"

I won't lie to you, they have been very intensely uncomfortable. I won't say painful, but when my stomach and liver and circulation were all healing on days 3-7 on my last fast, it was pretty intense. Most of the day just sleeping (sleep is mercy at times). The alternative is to die so this is better right?

I don't think most people react this dramatically to fast, it's not typical (so don't be scared), the fact is I'm still deep house cleaning from a very serious health issue.

Anyway, I'll probably be blogging my next fast, which will be for 10-14 days (August?), I'm really looking forward to it. I'm crossing my fingers that I'll be more functional, because that will pave the way for fasting at work. (The first 10 days of my fast are vacation days).
