Re: My story
I have a Bodum French press too, and I prefer coffee from that. The percolator was ridiculously cheap, and sometimes I just can't resist a bargain :(
I suppose when I first started out I thought it would be effective for weight loss if not a little risky, especially with the reactions from my rather naive friends "oh my god you'll collapse" and "would you like me to phone you every day to make sure you are OK?" and so on. Now I have a bit of fun with this actually. People are horrified when I tell them I haven't eaten for days / weeks, especially when I am driving and they are a passenger. Most of them though seem to accept it after a while, because they can see I am still standing, and look a lot healthier. And now I know better, namely that fasting is not risky at all, not for me anyway.
And yes, I would put the seed as being planted in my head by my Russian friend. It just took a bit of time to sprout, that's all. Now I know about fasting it feels great, but I can't believe I have lived for over half a century without understanding this basic concept of human health. However the lesson I have learned from that is to keep an open mind about anything, even that which I think on the face of it is wrong. Just because the majority of people believe something, that doesn't mean to say it's right or true.
