Still no period 3 months post removal

Has anyone else gone months after removal without having a period? I was completely period free for the 5 years I had Mirena. I got it out 3/11/08 and a few days later bled like crazy. It stopped for a few days and then started again for about 9 days. I'm not sure if all that was related to removal or if I had a period but I haven't had any bleeding since then and should have had at lesast 2 periods by now. I went to the Doctor today (a new doctor I'm seeing now that removed the Mirena for me) and she wrote me a prescr*iption for Provera to bring on a period but I'm trying to stay hormone free. She said if I don't have one in the next 2 months I should take the pills because she said it was important that I had at least 4 periods a year. Interesting since what got me to have the Mirena insterted in the first place was the idea of no more periods! That was my old doctor's selling point! I had no idea it would screw me up so badly. Has anyone else had problems with their periods after getting it taken out???
