Yes, it does sound like a similar experience. I am noticing a difference in my stool with the probiotics but not with my anxiety, although it has only been five days of probiotics. I am trying to understand the role of good bacteria and digestion. If nutrients are not getting digested properly (my transit time was very fast, with plenty of undigested food visible) then I can understand the potential for deficiency. Further this, my stool ph was 5.2, too acidic, suggesting low protein/fast transit. Related my plasma amino acids were below reference range for the most part. It could be that low amino acids = low levels of neurotransmitters = anxiety, etc. The lowest level of all was taurine (26 when ref range is 37 - 103). Not sure about supplementing with individual aa's as they work in concert. At any rate, I do consume enough dietary protein...

Also, not sure if lack of beneficial bacteria implies overgrowth of yeast. The link below is the best thing I have read about that:
