Re: parasites and salt

The body needs salt, as long as its natural, it doesnt cause high blood pressure
if its natural and unprocessed.

in medieval times the average day consumption of salt was about 20 grams for
a grown man. THat is ALOT Of salt. The reason for this is because they would
preserv their meat and fermented vegetables in lots of salt. Why did they do this?
1. They didnt have refrigerators back then, and this was an ancient way of preserving
foods. 2. Salt is an incredible disenfectant. I am not great with chemistry
but i will try and explain it as someone else once did. Every organism has
a a certain salt concentration that will kill them. For people its few
pounds i think. Anyways, viruses, bacteria, parasites and all matter of pathogens
have this osmality as well. In fact it is speculated that the sheer amount
of salt consumption of ancient people was in part what kept them pathogen free.
All except the really bad viruses. Often the poor, who would not be able to acquire
as much salt as the rich would fall victim to plagues first and had a much higher
fatality rate. This was due ALSO to lack of nutrition etc.

There was some research done by some pioneering victims of lyme disease.
Every day they took several grams of salt and several grams of ascorbic acid.
They kept increasing the dose until they got to about15 grams ( i think )
after they came to the higher doses they started to see strange things.
Worms coming out of thier skin, out of their ears, even out of their eye ducts
and mouths. They were amazed at how the nematodes seemed to be "desperately
escaping". Apparently when the bodies salt concentrations get high enough
it really ( pardon the pun ) "bugs them". They even said it is probably painful
for them as salt at a high enough dose litterally sucks their life fluid out
of thier bodies.

So thus the ancient way of preserving food not only helped dissenfect the
food itself from bacteria ( bacteria seem to bite the dust at a lower concentration)
viruses, parasites etc, but helped kill these things and prevent them from inside
the body.

Not only did people in all other ages and regions consume way more salt than
we do, they did it without any ill effects to their health. We crave salt, just
like the cow craves his salt lick. It is necessary for our health.
And only in this day have we ignorantly avoided its use.
