Re: speaking of the mouth
Hi Trapper,
I actually should have been paying more
attention, but when I had my teeth cleaned,
the hygienist gives you a little lesson and
once the plaque gets deeply embedded in
your mouth, it forms those black, like coffee
grounds, particles. She delighted in showing
me the ones I had in my mouth. For a few days
later, I was still spitting them out. It was
another reason I decided to further my own
oil-pulling since I feel it is like gargling
your mouth and so all the nut skins and
particles from the Brazil nuts I enjoy are
able to be flushed out. In the morning, I
really enjoy oil pulling since I use it as
an Oregano Oil delivery system and it keeps
my gums in good shape. This would indicate
that the pepto is not causing the black particles
but the swishing is working them out from under
the gumline...
I know there has been some bad-mouthing, pun
intended, of oil-pulling in this forum and
I would like to say that not all alternative
treatments work for everyone but for those
who oil-pull and who experience a dramatic
shift in the way they feel, it is such a
good thing. My last long fast 28-29 days, I
oil-pulled each morning and can certainly
attest that it helped minimize the detox
reaction and once my white coating on my
tongue was scraped and oiled, the rest of
my day was a breeze. I continue to oil-pull
each morning daily. I rarely miss because I
noticed that the days I missed, I could tell
a difference. I feel fortunate, that for me,
this treatment has a lot of merit. I am also
trying to bring it to the attention of the
Dental School at the University of Houston
since I think it does deserve an accredited
study and the attention it deserves.
Perhaps you can share with your father
that oil would work also. I would have to
say that I admire that he has continued to
do this "old remedy" and has found his trust
in it "well-placed". Many methods of healing
do not seem to have a sound basis relative
to today's understanding of medicine but
continue to work. Likewise, oil-pulling as
an ayurvedic treatment is very old...and does
enjoy a good success rate, one which has kept
it alive as a method of self-healing~~

Here also is another link which explains
that chronic disorders can take a year to
realize the benefits of oil-pulling.

this link describes what is seen in the
oil under a microscope~~

So often, people quit when their symptoms seem
to worsen. This is also the time when the most
discipline would serve them well.
