Re: Does fasting make parasites worse? Worm crawled out of my aunt's nose

When you say "parasites" you probably mean roundworms, Tapeworms and similar big, ugly things. However, most of parasites that people have problems with are invisible and microscopic in size. While those do feed on things that we eat, that is often not their primary food. Some feed on our own cells, some on other bacteria, some on glucose or lactose... but will eat our red blood cells maybe if there's nothing else...

So starving I would say is probably a bad idea. The anecdote with a worm coming out of a nose may be a made up story for all we know... or unimportant.

Better to keep the buggers happy and then hit them with something, then send them on search for foor if you know what I mean. Keep in mind that your immune system is fighting an incredible battle and without food your immunity will collapse fast.

The best thing one can do while fighting parasites is to not eat starches, sugars, milk, whipped cream, cakes, ice cream, frozen yogurt, pudding, snacks, bread and so on, and instead to base your diet on salads and light meat mostly (fish, chicken, turkey). That will feed you well enough, but will slow down those parasites. Of course, that type of diet is no cure, only preparation for taking the cure and I'd stick with it for a few weeks if not months after treatment.
