My niece being treated for MS!! Help!

I was so happy to find this forum. My niece, (19) called in tears saying her vision was blurred/doubled and her hands and arms were 'tingly'. The doctor gave her a CAT scan, she saw an eye doctor and is scheduled for an MRI on tuesday of this week. She is basically alone as her mother was in a car accident and has brain damage, so she came to family for help. I asked if she was taking anything or was on birth control, and thats when she told me about the Mirena, put in about 1 year ago, and I found this site. She was still in tears today, but I told her to 'get it out ASAP', even if you have to go to the ER and have them do it. Any/all information that would be useful to us is appreciated. She will still have the MRI on tues, and hopefully if it's the Mirena, I will join the class-action suit on this web site. Interesting how everyone on here is/was being treated as if they had MS. Thanks for all the useful information, shows how we need to know our own bodies and trust each other instead of the Doctors who support the drug companies!
