Maybe I have the standard mind the standardized tests were designed to measure , but I think the tests are valid . What is intelligence ? It's just the common sense notion that some of us have it and some people don't . When I meet people who do well on various tests such as the SATs IQ tests etc ,they seem more intelligent and have more analytical ability . I think there is a strong genetic component to intelligence because I know people who studied incessently , had tutors and grew up in upscale areas who never did well in difficult subjects such as math and Science and did'nt have high IQs.
