Re: Asimov and the auto mechanic

Why all this talk of IQ lately? Obviously we are being dumbed down. That's a no brainer. Look at what people watch on TV today; kids come out of school and can't comprehend what they're reading and can't make change at a cash register. Try to hold a conversation of any substance with the average person. Duh. That's obvious.
I LOVED Asimov's article. I think IQ testing is a bunch of B.S. used to pigeonhole people. I know plenty of people with high IQs whose thinking is skewed. And I know a few people who would be considered "average" IQ who have common sense, which isn't so common. So who is the more intelligent?
By the way, my father had an IQ over 150 and guess what he did for a living? He was a truck mechanic.
Testing should be flushed down the toilet. It's crap. And that's my two cents for what it's worth, which is probably just about two cents.
