Re: SIMILAR PROBLEMS WITH RAW DIET - seem to need GRAINS or palpitations & neuropathy, circulation get worse! Re: Calories, Digestion, Sprouted Grains, and a Raw Diet
Greetings Meadow,
I have met and worked with several Raw Fooders who have also found themselves stopping at a certain point of their journey because of symptoms from pre-existing conditions or from symptoms that they feel are too unbareable to continue. As a result they also do the start and stop thing. They start eating raw and then stop when the symptoms arise or they feel they can not go on. The unfortunate thing is that had they continued the symptoms would have eventually stopped to never come back again unless they stop eating Raw Food. The other unfortunate thing is that stopping and starting makes the transition that much harder the next time they start to eat Raw Food again and is very hard on the system.
Apparently you are listening to your body and it is telling you that you need grains. Yes Essene bread is not Raw but there are several ways that you can enjoy flaxseeds. One of my favorites is grinding them up and putting some in my morning smoothie and the other is flaxseed crackers. You can either buy the the crackers or make them if you have a dehydrator. With the crackers you can snack on them anytime you want or feel you need them. There are so many Raw Food recipes out their you can benefit from. You will find that within time you will REVERSE all of your conditions provided that you continue eating Raw...but that is the key you have to stick with it inorder for it to work.
Meadow...yes Raw Food can and will help you. You need encouragement, you need resources and you need substitutes for the ryebread and cooked vegetables. I always suggest two important books The 12 Steps to Raw by Victoria Boutenko and Living on Live Foods by Alissa Cohen. Victoria has the facts and Alissa has facts, testimonies and over 300 DELICIOUS recipes that I know you can find substitues for your nutritional needs. What actually does your daily Raw Food Diet consist of?
What you may need to do is experiment. Make Raw Breads, crackers and desserts. I have been Raw for a few years and I have never just eaten sprouts by themselves or just in salads. I usually make one of my other favorites Oatmeal cookies.
A couple of suggestions to help you on your journey:
Eat as much as you want until you are satisfied and be creative. If you are not a creative Raw Food eater you may find yourself getting bored.
Commit yourself to the lifestyle challenge completely...mind, body and spirit. All three have to be in alignment inorder for you to fully embrace the journey and heal yourself.
Also check out the Barefoot Herbalist for the herbal food you may need for certain conditions. It sounds like you may need to clean out your digestive track inorder for you to get the results you need as well.
Embrace your Raw Journey
