Where to start? Not everyone is affected the same. 24% of us are genetically more susceptible. Just because your husband does not believe he is being affected, doesn't give him the right to jeopardize his family's health. He is away from it a lot. So, of course he may not be as affected by it. His immune system has a chance to catch up while he is on the road. While you are stuck there breathing it into your lungs all the time.

There is no disputing that when building materials are not dried out within 24-48 hours mold WILL grow. This is agreed upon knowledge amongst all who are knowledgeable on mold. There is disagreement as to the health effects only. Those that don't experience it have a hard time believing it can do what it does. Those that experience it have no doubt it is causing their health problems.

A simple way to show the house is tge cause of health problems is to get away from the house for a week or two. If symptoms subside to one degree or another, the house is obviously the source of your health problems. If you have visible blck mold growing, you have a problem. How much of a problem depends on the type of mold, how much, how long you have been exposed, your genetic susceptibility, and how much has accumulated inside your body. Your body has difficulty ridding it from the mucous membranes throughout your body. When there is more comming in, at a rate faster than the cleaning systems can clean it out, it accumulated to higher and higher levels. Then health problems start manifesting themselves more and more, in a spiral of combinations doctors have trouble unraveling, especially since they get very little training in mycology during medical school. Simply ask them stright up how much they know about the affects of toxic mold on the human body.

This is a serious situation. The moisture problem needs to be corrected to eliminate the source of the mold growth. If you actually have visual mold a professional mold remediation company really should be brought in. If your situation can't afford that you will have to be very proactive to protect your health. The mold has to be killed and the water problem stopped. Kilz it is not good enough. Staight bleach on the concrete is probably best in this case. But you will have to ventilate to the outside and wear protective gear. the mold remediation mask which protects you from mold spores and bleach can be gotten from Home Depot for about $45. Your eues also need to be protected with goggles. Bleach will burn your lungs, skin and your eyes.

You immediately need an air cleaner and a vacuum which both have Hepa filters in them. The Honeywell 17000 has a Hepa filter and is light enough to move from room to room. Runs about $145 at Home Depot. These are your best tools to capture the mold spores out of your breathing environment.

I assure you most, if not all of your health problems are directly or indirectly connected to your mold exposure. Unless your husband enjoys big doctor bills, seeing his family harmed, and the value of his home going lower and lower untill you might as well burn it down, he needs to correct the problem. As soon as any real estate agent or insurance agent sees the mold, you will not be able to sell the house or get insurance on it, believe me. To protect his family's health and the equity value of his home he needs to fix this problem. This is as nice as I can say it.

Your 15 year old's sinus surgery is most likely directly related to the mold problem in your home. Ask that doctor who did that surgery how much he knows about the effects of toxic mold on the human body. That surgery most likely would not have been needed if the mold problem in the home had been corrected. I'm sorry. But, when I see children harmed unnecessarily it makes me angry. The doctors are not trained to recognize it and properly treat it. The insurance companies put saving themselve money at a higher priority than peoples' health and welfare. Self serving entities purposely put conflicting information out to the public to confuse them because the public sits on juries which decide whether they have to pay damages to people who have had mold exposures. Sorry.

If the Antibiotics your son was given were mold based then they were the opposite of what your son needs. Most Antibiotics are mold based. Penicillin is made from the pennicllium mold, etc. The last thing your son needed was a concentrated dose of a mold based Antibiotic to add even more mold to his body. Most likely there will be initial improvement, then problems. Antibiotics are a concentrated dose of usually mold, sent in to kill off the bacteria, including the good bacteria the body requires to function properly, upsetting the bacteria/fungal balance even further. When the antibiotics kill off the mold's main competitor of bacteria, which helps keep the mold in check, it gives the mold free reign to wreak havoc throughout the body.

After a regiment of antibiotics, during my mold exposure, my body went downhill very fast. I had been a stuntman in a pyrotechnics show. After the antibiotics I could not walk across the room without tripping over my own feet all the way across.
