you NEED to get the leaky walls fixed, its absolutley imperative. what is more important, a closet or your family's health? i would get a professional mold removal person to look at this, its really very important. you may be able to use a product like "kilz" on your walls, but not sure if that will do it or not. the problem may be deeper than that can take care of.

a borax and water solution will help quite a bit with any mold, it kills mold on contact more effectively than bleach does. also ozone is used by the best mold removal companies to kill the mold spores in the air. you can get ozone machines on ebay. but if you dont get to the root of the problem, it will continue.

you HAVE to fix the leaky wall, its that simple. dont take no for an answer, get to it, its really worth it.

in the mean time you can get a dehumidifier and put it where the mold problem is the worst. spray the area down with a borax/water solution (heat the water then mix in the borax) and then turn on the dehumidifier. that will help. but its not the cure, you need to get to the root of the problem.
