The Amish are frugal and hard-working. If an Amish man didn't have a horse or a driver, he'd walk to town or fabricate what he needed himself. When the crash levels the material field and conditions become intense, what the Amish will still have that most Americans lack is CAPABILITY. Not to mention an icehouse full of food preserved by chunks of ice from the nearby pond. The ones I know are sitting on 70+ acres of land and use wood heat. They won't be cold this winter. Life will be harder, but they will survive if anyone does.
