It's probably just more naivety of me (like the 'American DREAM') to think that the UK gov't. would be more helpful than FEMA in a largescale catastrophe, but then again, anybody is better than FEMA.

Survival today depends so much on becoming independent of a collapsed infrastructure, but after reading your post on "Sovereignty", I think that might just be the new approach that is needed. It would seem that the Amish are best prepared for any collapse.
