Hmmmm.
I feel quite confident in what I tell people. And no, I'm not a therapist.
People come here and post for what? They come here for advice. And that's what they get. We all come here with our own experiences, and I am but one person with my own opinions. Obviously you are full of the opinions too.
No one's opinions ultimately matter. People will do what they do, no matter what anyone tells them, even to their face.
So, oh wise one. Tell us exactly what you would have told this young man. We are all waiting with breath that is baited. Perhaps to just wait it out? And what would you tell someone who is being abused, obviously so, and in danger or pain? Do you tell them, oh well, eventually you'll figure it out? Would your advice have you talk in circles, quote poetry or philosophy, been vague making them wonder what you are actually saying?
So the floor is open. It's not really about me, it's about him. So go for it.
I would never be so bold as to say I know it all, or that you know nothing. I know what I know and it's my life experience I share. Take it or leave it.
