The pictures of the animal abuse have been on TV and the Internet since
January. The thing is, the SPCA says they have pictures of the same type
of abuse at other beef producers - so there are probably more to come. If
you were to follow this you will find that the company whose meat has been
recalled has no way to recover the financial loss of both the recall and the
refunds that will be demanded of them. It will put them out of
business.
This has all come about because the USDA has completely ignored food safety
during the past 7 years and it took the SPCA to bring it to light. USDA
and the food industry are sleeping together more tightly than the FDA and the pharmaceuticals.
I just hope that it is a wake up call to other meat processors.
Mercola gets some things right, and messes up in other areas. He
himself is big business - has a staff of over 50 keeping the money flowing in.
