Re: "pleasure tolerance"
Yes, heartspirit, I think so too. It seems to me that Leonard's "expanding the pleasure tolerance" and Abraham's "letting it in" are pretty much the same thing, and they both consider it the core of anyone's growth. Just different vocabulary.
But what made me think, of this article, is the consideration that when we find ourselves in resistance, it can be for no particular reason other than that we've reached the ceiling, as Alison would call it. In that case the content of the resistance is just symptomatic, and the most advisable thing to do, as Leonard suggests, is consciously focus on the pleasure, expanding like that the range. I found it was kinda interesting, as he corroborates the position of Abraham of not working too much on resistances and let joy change the focus. So also Leonard suggests, instead of working on limiting beliefs, shame and other stuff that constitute the content of our resistance, to consciously open ourselves to pleasure, challenging our normal borders of pleasure tolerance, deliberately expanding our ability to embrace reality. Alluding to the idea that the real root of the problems is not the content of the resistance, but the resistance itself to pleasure. It is a subtlety but it makes a world of difference in the approach to blockages. He's like that little step more radical than Abraham, if you like, or maybe only a little more explicit in this sense.
In these days I'm considering a change of paradigm, where I feel like letting go of my traditional approach that has always been very much for the healing of the resistances, and trust more the wonders of love. It is because I suddenly remembered that in the latest session with jongos they were just laughing at me when I mentioned works of healing and stuff like that, they were actually pretty much amused, and repeated over and over that one just needs to fly from flower to flower like a butterly and that is all there is to do.
So I trust plants, I trust Abrahams, I like Leonard, and I like contradicting myself and trying new ways, and that was more or less the kind of thinking behind this thread. Of course I am not saying it is right, as there are many paths, but I just feel like trying this and see what happens.
