Re: Side Effects and self removal question

I had the Mirena inserted 6 weeks after the birth of my second child. I only had cramping the day of and the day after it was inserted. I did have bleeding, as expected, for six weeks afterwards.

I had gastric bypass surgery 3 1/2 years ago and had no problem losing all of my baby weight following the birth of my first child. This time, however, I actually gained weight after my second child was born and the IUD was put in. My husband and I did the abs diet and worked out (which I've never done before) and I still gained weight. The only thing I can contribute this to is the Mirena.

So... I took it out myself. I just pulled on the strings and it slipped right out. Thankfully I had only had it in for 2 months and it was still in place. At the doctor's visit I had scheduled to actually have it removed she checked everything (I still felt bloated underneath the belly fat) and thinks I may have an ovarian cyst (spelling?)...

I am also extremely irritable and get angry very easily. This is so not my nature. I feel like I have post-partum depression. When my poor 3 1/2 month old daughter cries (for what appears to be no reason) I just want to walk away and let her cry.

I'm not sure if this is because of the progesterone drop after taking the Mirena out or what, but I can't stand being like this and can't wait to be "normal" again.
