Nicole, How did the removal go? I really want to get mine out but am nervous about the pain. I had a terrible time when it was inserted... fainted in the doctor's office. I have really resented the Mirena since the day it was inserted. I bled for days after, got Acne for the first time in my life, lost ALL sex drive, and gained 8 pounds(from 134 to 140 within a week!!!) even though I work out 5 days a week and eat a very healthy/consistent diet.

The worst part (other than the weight gain which has been really really upsetting) is that I have become a raging angry mom. While I was never known for unending patience, ever since August when I had it placed, I have had terrible mood swings and bouts of rage. My husband just looks at me like I've lost my mind and my 3 kids do the same.

I wish I had done more research before I opted to do this. I wanted something to reduce my bleeding since it was excessive and I've never been very good at remembering pills. My OB told me there'd be little to no side effects witht e Mieran since it's a localized hormone release. She said if anything it'd be like mild PMS. I never had PMS so I figured, how bad can it be. Guess I found out!!!

Kabel, if you're out there.... I've read lots of your posts and I'll do as you suggest with cutting caffeine and sugar, but do you have any stats on how long it takes for the weight to start coming off?
