There are good and bad fats. EFAs that provide a good balance of Omega 3/6/9 oils are healthy oils (e.g., fish, flax, some vegetables, etc.). Animal fat falls somewhere in between good and bad. Hydrogenated fat with trans fatty acids are the worst. Your body needs EFAs to survive. They provide great pain and inflammation relief in sufficiently high doses, though don't overdo it. You can also get them from animals, but with more cholestoral to gum up the works. I would recommend a good book on nutrition, since I'm far from expert.
