Re: Snippets of disturbing medical history
I believe in taking charge of your own health and doing research into whatever therapies you wish to pursue. I ask questions because I'm trying to establish my personal views on healthcare. Just like most people here would agree that you shouldn't believe everything you read/see because the potential for propoganda with ulterior motives is rampant in allopathic medicine, I don't think that I should blindly follow everything I read on this website. Anyone can write anything on the internet. I also personally don't think that you have to choose one side or the other in terms of allopathic and alternative. You take what you feel is right and good for you from each side. I believe that acupuncture is a great tool for lots of health problems, but I also believe the zapper is bogus. I don't feel that I should be attacked for believing this, and I'm pretty sure my postings for the most part are relatively level-headed and free of malice.
As far as the previous exchange I asked a reasonable question because I believe, as well as I think you do, that allopathic medicine can take care of emergency medicine and trauma reasonably well and shouldn't be "thrown out with the bathwater" as other people contend. If someone was to convince me otherwise, then that's fine, but Stridar's posting didn't really sway me and was less substance and more yelling.
P.S. allopathic medicine is researching capsacin, the stuff in cayenne and other hot peppers, as a treatment for cancers and other problems.
