Re: newbie with fibromyalgia
I hope this goes thru correctly on the thread I started, if not, please excuse me....
Thank you all for your input! I've decided to decrease my
Miracle-Mineral-Supplement from 7 drops 2x/day to 4 drops 2x/day. So far, after this morning's dose, I'm OK, no nausea or stomach pain. I guess I was overdoing it, and trying to "muscle' thru the nausea, hoping it would stop.
For those who talked or asked about fibromyalgia - it has so many symptoms that overlap with so many diseases that it's almost a diagnosis of last resort - supposed to be made after all blood tests for thyroid, Lyme, MS, etc are negative, and after having at least 11 of the 18 "tender points". I had about 17 ;-)
No one really knows yet the basic "cause" of fibro - I think because it's symptoms are so similar to other syndromes, different people can have different causes. Pathogens can be one. The endocrinologist I go to in CA, Dr. Paul St. Amand, theorizes and is doing a study to see if it is caused by a possibly inherited genetic defect that causes our mitochondria to produce less energy than "normals". Also that our kidneys do not excrete phosphates as they should, and the excess backs up, causing (?) the glitch in energy production (involving ATP and the mitochondria) and a depositing of phosphates and calcium in all parts of our bodies, especially bones, ligaments and muscles. Thus the pain and lack of energy. This is not a very detailed explanation....
The guaifenesin (basically mucinex) protocol is supposed to open up the tubules in the kidneys to be able to excrete more phosphates, thus eventually "reversing" (not curing) the fibro. The doc himself and thousands of people have gotten relief from this protocol, which is why I'm trying it. However, the reversal process acts like a "herx" and you feel worse while excreting more phosphates and junk than you did before. Gradually you have more good days and fewer bad ones, but the whole reversal can take years. You also have to be extremely careful to eliminate all salycilates from your diet (except food itself), including herbal remedies and aspirin, and from your skin care. Its not an easy protocol, and the
Science is rather complicated. For the person whose husband has it, the website is
http://www.fibromyalgiatreatment.com.
I have no monetary affiliation with them. I will definitely let people here know how I'm doing with it. So far, after 4 months of guaifenesin, I'm still feeling worse, but have had a few decent half-days here and there.
I especially felt better when I was taking about 4 drops of
Miracle-Mineral-Supplement 2x/day for some reason. I'm using both protocols now in the hopes of addressing various causes of fibromyalgia syndrome. I'm sick and tired of being sick and tired!
I'm not sure if I went way off-topic for this list explaining the fibro and guaifenesin protocol. If so, I apologize - I only did so because someone asked.
Thanks for all your help, and good luck with your healing!
