Re: Welcome!
Welcome froggie!
Wow - what a story. You posted a lot of questions in there. Let me just say that this forum is really for after you've had your
Amalgams removed (by whatever means necessary).
Amalgam removal is a big topic and there is a forum devoted to it.

But chelation is also a big topic.
>I had a urin test that showed lead poisioning, and I am going to have a hair test tomorrow. I believe my body is choosing to eliminate the lead first.
Yes! This is why so-called urine "challenge" tests are so unreliable. Apparently it can take many months before autistics start excreting mercury in their urine.
>The hair test will be more accurate.
Yes! Though unfortunately few people know how to read one properly. If you post up your results I can help you there.
>I began using vitamin c in large doses, 3 times a day. That helps greatly. When I forget to take it, I notice a greater weakness in my limbs. I also have been making the delicious cilantro pesto I found on another Cure Zone forum. It also helps alot.
You shouldn't take cilantro (or another chelating agent) whilst you still have
Amalgams in your mouth. The reason is because it can pull mercury from your
Amalgams into your body. Wait until after removal. Although stricly speaking cilantro is contraindicated in the Cutler protocol.
>I had an appointment to begin having my fillings/crowns removed today, but found out yesterday that my dentist passed away a week ago. I was shocked! This inspired man who worked so hard to help people poisioned by mercury! I am now considering just having all my teeth pulled and getting some kind of non-metal dentures, if they make them. Does anyone have any information on this?

Andrew Cutler is a chemist who got poisoned by his dental amalgams. He has spent the last 10 years or so devising the only proven and safe chelation protocol around. Basically when you take a chelating agent (such as ALA, DMSA, or even cilantro) the chelator grabs onto mercury and hopefully escorts it out of your body. What happens sometimes is that the chelator drops the mercury and redistributes it randomly around your body. This can be very unpleasant and even dangerous. This is a side-effect of all chelation. The way to minimize this is to take *frequent* *low* doses so that your blood level of the chelator remains constant. This way when a piece of mercury is dropped it is more likely to be picked up again by another chelator.
The Cutler protocol is this - frequent low-dose chelation using an appropriate chelator (DMSA, DMPS, ALA). If you are interested I thoroughly recommend you buy the book. Just click on "forum description" on the main forum page for more info.
Hope that helps,
JV.
