Minerals-Hcl, Assimilation & Seaweed...
Glad to see you are having some progress. Diabetes is related to pH too. You might want to test the morning (6-7am) urine and get it between 6.4 and 7.0 for two weeks straight. pH is a measure of oxygenation of cells. Low pH means acidity and necrosis and breakdown of the body. Raising alkalinity is an essential building block and measurement of health.
Often diabetes comes on as a result of low stomach acid (can be from eating too many cooked foods). The stomach acid when at proper levels acts to destroy harmful bacteria that can migrate to the pancreas. Once the pancreas is overloaded the nano-bacteria migrates to the heart. That is why the heart is affected in advanced diabetes in many cases. Once the stomach acid is raised you can then properly assimilate minerals such as calcium and magnesium. Increasing stomach hcl is a requirement for that. In Chinese medicine the most important organ is the stomach.
Eating ground flax seed is a good way to slow digestion and increase uptake of nutrients and stabilize blood sugar. Stay away from anything that dehrydrates the body like coffee or teas. A great source of valuable nutrients is Dulse. Buy the large leaf (I prefer the taste of this over the flakes) and eat it right out of the bag. Or keep it in a jar moistened with some olive oil. Use it as a condiment. It can be put in soups, salads or crumbled over hard boiled eggs. Many options. It has all known minerals including iodine, protein, fiber and B6 and B12. I like it better than any other seaweed and have some everyday. Hopefully it is something your body can handle and that you like the taste of.
Here is a good link and shows how metals can affect diabetics. This is a protocol used by a Doc in California and clearly outlines a treatment plan for an elderly diabetic. Click on the link for HPB and Diabetes...
