Is 'wanting to help' the same as 'needing to'? (I know this is a complex subject -one with increasingly subtle layerings- that relates to one's own feelings of 'lack' or 'not lack'...)

isn't the cat also in the 'owner's' view ; my view; your view? so, are we not all (in Ho'oponopono terms)responsible for the cat's illness? I'm guessing yes.


And in those same H. terms, are you and I responsible for everyone here on CZ that we each interact with? When you track these connections, finally it would seem one is returned (in very real terms) to the one of the core Buddhist tenets of interconnection; of "all beings our mothers..."(when one engages in Chenrezi practise, it is for/with all beings; all realms.)
