Gosh, this sounds like something I would do. All kidding aside, you may be bang on about the neurological effects. The gut has almost 90% of our serotonin receptors contained in cells throughout, and we know
parasites have access to the gut! Remember, worms are animals with rudimentary nervous system themselves, so it is not a leap to suggest the drug may have anti-parasitic properties.
My [past] parasitologist had me on anti-psychotic drugs to induce a similar result. It did not work. But another drug "lorazepam" an anti-anxiety drug, did induce a "break" in my infection for at least a week or more. They would not re-prescribe it due to it's addictive nature.
So, you are not far off the mark by suggesting drugs which have effects on the CNS could have serendipitous actions on parasitic infections. Shroom
