Re: A place to live

Because of your reasoning, if you told me I am young now and I want to see the world and might want to go to New Zealand because I am interested in that country, that to me makes sense. If you just want to not be close to your family may be you can find a place at the Veluwe or anywhere else in Holland. Limburg might be ok too, that is a decent distance.
When my Dutch nephew was your age, after college he travelled for a year, I know a lot of Dutch people do this. He went to Australia, Indonesia, New Zealand and worked in all these countries.

When you get older you will realize if you ever have problems it is usually family that will help you out, even if you have not seen them for a long time.

You should do what you are comfortable with, but running away from problems is not easy, because you might find new problems whereever you go. That's life.
May be you and Boem can get together so you can support eachother.
