Dear Rokybird,
I fear there is absolutely nothing I can say to you. There are so many holes in your argument. If not Sweden, pick some other warm place. What about England? They have nice heavy taxation and plenty of social programs for you. They're a bit warmer than Sweden. Maybe Chrisb can enlighten you about what is going on over there. I don't know how they survive as expensive as it is. (By the way, England is one of my very favorite countries, but not for those reasons obviously) We are not talking about anarchy here. There is law, reasonable law, and you cannot break that law. The anarchy argument is moot. Socialism doesn't work -- period, end of story. What you are proposing is uptopia that can't exist by the very laws of human nature. And what gives you the right to tell other people that they have to pool their money together and divvy it up the way the government sees fit? Do you think the government is doing a good job of it now? As I told you, I have a handicapped son. I KNOW what kind of a job they're doing, and it's disgraceful. Perhaps it's time to split the nation into two. Those who would like to be taken care of by the government please step to the left; those who would like to maintain their freedom please step to the right.
Please take this post in the spirit in which it was intended. I am not being flip or sarcastic. The socialist mindset is just inconceivable to me. I can't wrap my intellectual side around it because it just doesn't make any sense, except on paper. In the real world it is a miserable failure. Tweet
