Yea, George Ohsawa. I don't think that sanpaku eyes are only based on Asian eyes because Ohsawa used Western examples, as well. His book was actually dedicated to JFK and Pres. Lincoln and he discussed that their sanpaku eyes suggested their health imbalances and potential for harm to come to them. Actually, "We Are All Sanpaku" became a big hit because many believed that it had good predictive value based on Kennedy's Addison's Disease and assassination. Interestingly, Charles Manson also had sanpaku eyes, although the white was visible above his iris which supposedly indicates a greater potential for violent behavior.
I don't think exophthalmos is the same as sanpaku eyes because it involves the bulging of the eye, and in advanced stages the eye whites are visible all around the iris. This can occur in Graves Disease, but other illnesses as well. In extreme cases, these poor people cannot even close their eyelids to sleep!
