Amen~!
I sure wish they had covered your Peace Parade
on television. I agree that we have to be creative
and as more people are empowered to utter that
Peace IS Patriotic, perhaps we can maintain the
freedom to find balance in our politics and our
relationships with others. I was reading an essay
somewhere last night which described how our nation
has always been war-mongering and I had to agree
that our country was founded on the same principle.
What is different from when I was growing up and
wearing black armbands and walking in protests is
that it seems that Peace has been labeled unpatriotic
and in some circumstances, treasonous. People wearing
shirts with peace signs on them have been tossed out
of the very mall they bought them in~!
We do need to include our children and become proactive
in our claim and demand for ways to negotiate and
cultivate peace among nations and ourselves.
Thanks for sharing~!
best wishes,
Zoe
