Do some research on implanon. It's a little implant that they put underneath the skin of your off-arm. It only takes a few minutes to put in, and lasts for 3 years. My wife is using it, and she loves it. She switched over to it from depo-provera. It does away with periods similar to depo-provera, but doesn't have the mega dose of hormones every 3 months. Instead it lets out a very small amount every day, just enough to keep you from getting pregnant. It was approved by the FDA a year or so ago, but has been used around the world for about 10 years now.
The good thing about it, if you have any bad reactions you can have it taken out in a few minutes, and all the hormones it releases will be gone from your system within a couple days. That means you would be fertile again within a few days of stopping it if you ever changed your mind. According to my wife it didn't hurt very much either. Her arm ached a bit for a week or so, but now she hardly ever feels it.
