Sounds similar to the work of John Holt in South Australia. He tried in vain to get support and funding from the Government in in the 70, 80's and 90's as he was curing a large no of patients, by (I think) starving cancer cells of glucose, and restarting the Mitochondion with radio waves. (Simplified explanation - u can read about the details urselfs, lol)

Of course he got no support, and has now retired as he is 80+, but his work continues in Western Australia.
