Dying for a coconut fast
Hi!
So I haven't been on here for a while... like, nearly a year! I've been travelling across this dry, arid continent of ours (Australia) in search of the perfect Oasis. I believe I've found it in a special town in Northern WA. Beautiful beaches, warm and sunny every day, and coconuts EVERYWHERE! I'm still suffering from a lot of health issues, have had some improvements from a few changes I've made, such as resistance training (YEAH!) and Lyprinol (has realllllly helped with my periods), and glutamine supplementation, but my immune system is basically a piece of sh** and is letting me down and ruining my life. I know it's related to my ridiculously USELESS digestive system, that is simply not working - ie. not digesting. It's really hard not to have a negative attitude toward my health right now :(
I've just begun culturing kefir, and also bought some water kefir crystals to culture coconut water with... Should be interesting. I will cross-post some info about this as my experiments unfold.
I am just in the process of finding a good source of coconuts, I feel I need them like I need air, and have barely had any in the best part of the year due to the ubiquitous problem of shelf spoilage in the outback.
I'm hoping I can get a good stockpile of local coconuts to do a decent (say, 14 day) fast as I recover from getting my dental overhaul (4 impacted wisdom teeth MUST come out ASAP, as I believe they are making me sick, plus I may have to remove all four rear molars as well). I want to get as many of these poison daggers removed from my face as quickly as possible, and I won't have any choice about eating then anyway! So drinking coconuts it is!
BTW I did one other 5 day coconut fast in the Northern Territory, cut a bunch of coconuts out of a tree in Darwin and took them to the Bitter springs in Mataranka (the Never Never). It was great, but I got so weak because I didn't have enough coconuts and had to "budget" them to only a few per day. I really believe to do this properly you need to be drinking about one per hour, plus you don't want to be using your vital force up on hacking into your fresh coconuts. The shaved ones (white, as in the photograph on this page, top left) are the best for this as they are really easy to get into. One or two whacks with a big cleaver is all it takes to get to that sweet sweet nectar... Mmmmmm... COCONUTS!!!!
Now I know what to pray for. A lifetime's supply of coconuts. I have even considered moving to the Phillipines or something. Actually, I plan to travel to Thailand in search of a good coconut supplier there, and begin importing them into the country. We will see...
First things first: Mental Dental.
Will keep you posted.
