Re: Liver Cleanse Gone Bad
Hi,
I'd just like to point out the problems that I see with this testimonial, because there are several. This is not to say that I think your opinion is invalid; if anyone thinks the flush is potentially harmful, then he should potentially NOT do the flush.
The most obvious thing that stands out is that the poster encouraged her sister to do the flush. The sister wasn't wildly interested in it herself, it sounds like, so that's always a down side. Personal responsibility is the hallmark of alternative health (or, rather, personal health). This means being interested one's self, and finding one's own answers, and making an informed choice. I don't get the impression that this is the case for the sister.
Mel casually makes the comment, "She was nervous on this cleanse to begin with," as if this isn't a danger sign. It most definitely
is a danger sign. If your gut tells you that doing a
Liver Flush is the wrong thing to do, then it is the wrong thing to do -- period, end of debate. In this case, the only reasonable answer is more study to find out more about the flush (or other flushes), or to look into another area to address.
What was the sister trying to accomplish by doing the
Liver Flush in the first place? Was she doing it to support (or humor) her sister, or because she genuinely wanted to start this trek of personal responsibility for her health?
The next thing which comes up is that the sister started out doing a liver flush. Nowhere in Dr. Clark's materials does it suggest that anyone should do a
Liver Flush as the first thing; this is, in fact, very near the end of the list, with a thorough
Colon Cleanse and a thorough
parasite cleanse and a thorough
kidney cleanse all being prerequisites to using Dr. Clark's method for liver flushes.
That
some people handle
Liver Flushes without problems without doing the prerequisites does not mean that the prerequisites can be safely ignored by everyone. It was a serious error on the part of Mel to encourage her sister to start on a liver flush.
Andreas points out that this problem that the sister experienced is common among those who "follow incomplete cleansing procedures". This is precisely the reason for the prerequisites. Prerequisites
are a part of the procedure, and they are important. If they weren't important, they wouldn't be included, or they would be described as unimportant.
Cleaning out the liver using Dr. Clark's method is known to be a bit harsh on the system. That's also why it is recommended that people wait two weeks between flushes. But don't blame Dr. Clark or her methods -- if Dr. Clark had been supervising the sister, you can be certain that the sister would
not have started at liver flushing!
Further, Andreas states, "
Hulda Clark 's cleanse misses out on... colon cleansing...". This is false. Dr. Clark, and
Dr. Schulze too, and so many others in personal healing, all recommend doing colon cleansing -- thorough colon cleansing -- before anything else, well before beginning with liver flushes. The criticism, "She also does not advice colon cleansing after each liver flush," while true, is not a valid criticism. After thoroughly cleansing the colon, the
Epsom Salt mixture does an excellent job of cleaning out the colon and flushing out the stones. But you do need to drink all four drinks (two before the oil, two in the morning after) for best effect! If you drink the
Epsom Salt mixture as directed, and you've done thorough colon and
parasite cleanses, you will
not have stones stuck in your intestines to create problems.
Another false point is what OneLove suggests, "2. Drinking the oil juice mix ice cold not good." Dr. Clark does not suggest drinking the oil and juice mixture ice cold. The
Epsom Salt mixture may be refrigerated, if that's how you want it. The oil and juice, however, should be room temperature. In fact, ice cold (or refrigerated) organic olive oil is solid, making it very, very difficult to "drink".
Dr. Clark's method is
not dangerous.
Misunderstanding and misapplying Dr. Clark's method, however, certainly can be, and I've misapplied Dr. Clark's method enough to be my own guinea pig on that point.
Please, guys, read and understand the materials fully. If you're only visiting this web site to humor a relative, or because you want a quick fix to decades of personal abuse, or because you're trying to be "open-minded", or because you want someone else to make things right for you -- in other words, you're not really here to dig in and learn about this stuff and choose the path that's right for you -- then you're going to fail, and perhaps injure yourself, too. THAT is the real moral of this story.
Dr. Clark's method is not, however, the only method, and it isn't the method for everyone. I'd much rather have someone study the available materials and choose not to use Dr. Clark's method than to mis-apply it and then badmouth it because of their own mistakes or errors or misunderstandings.
