Do you have anything in your budget for some supplements?
Fish oil (omega 3 fatty acids) contains substances that are needed to repair the brain.
Have you ever tried magnesium supplements or

Glutathione is not the first thing I'd try. One reason is that it stirs up heavy metals such as mercury. That mercury can make your symptoms worse.
I like the approach of Andy Cutler, PhD Chemistry, about glutathione (GSH). He encourages people to take the things that the body naturally uses to make GSH. That includes a diet containing some sulfur--brocoli, garlic, eggs spinach, etc.
The supplements glutamine and glycine are needed for the body to make GSH. They along with sulfur are in whey and other protein powders; however some people are sensitive to soy and milk products. Pea powder is an alternative but mroe expensive.
Vitamin C and selenium are two good antioxidants that don't kick up much mercury. They are not very expensive. The Ascorbic Acid form of vitamin C might be good with meals to assist in digestion.
The hormone pregnenolone has a growing reputation for promoting brain healing.
If you also have "difficult" mood, small doses of the mineral lithium also have a reputation for promoting brain healing.
So much more could be said.
