Hi - her point was they add it (rice syrup) but do not state so on the label (Jian, if you are reading this, how did you learn that?) But, beyond that, I tend to agree with you. I tend to be quite a bit more liberal on my diet than some. I do understand eliminating foods that you have an allergic reaction to, and of course
Sugar and flour products, but I do allow myself foods that some consider no-no's (gasp!), such as soy, bananas, tomatoes, white potatoes in moderation, cheese in moderation, organic commercial plain yogurt and kefir, shredded coconut, meats (some organic, but some not), starchy vegs like legumes and yams, beets, organic potato chips as an occasional snack, and the occasional glass of Chardonnay (maybe 1 or 2/month. But, all my food is of high quality and I do not ingest any type of junk food. I am not cured - I am LOTS better than I was, tho. In the beginning, I could not walk the 20 feet to the copier at work from my desk, had to bring home Christmas presents in a taxi because I was afraid my 24/7 nausea would make me vomit on the bus, and now I have a daily mile walk and can read in cars w/o getting carsick (just a couple examples). So, am I shooting self in foot by not starving? If the folks who are eating only lettuce were doing better than me, well, I would change my tune, but that is not the case. Besides, in my case, I am pretty sure that the root of my continuing to be less than 100% lies in my liver issues. That is a topic for another day! :)
Just started reading a bit over at Dr. Jeff, and he also seems to have a liberal approach to the diet, for what it is worth. He does not think the answer is to starve it - he thinks it just comes back. Common sense is needed. Of course, if you DO eat a banana and subsequently get a candida surge, OF COURSE don't eat it, but I never experience that from the foods listed above.
