I never thought you were pitting
Lugols vs iodoral against each other but you do continually make reference to low dose
Iodine as the way to go. I think many people here start with that and find it doesn't work. Personally I would love to have low dose work.
Here's one of your last statements:
Jarvis laid the foundation for what these individuals are espousing. Their contributions are worthwhile of course but there is a kind of cultism around their presentation.
So what kind of cultism is around these doctor's presentations?
I don't believe Jarvis laid any foundation for these doctors. Jarvis was one of many, many doctors of his time who used iodine. You can google older books than his and see
Lugols goes way back. In fact many old doctors used fairly high doses compared to what Jarvis talks about. (another reason I believe that Vermonter's diet were already fairly
Iodine rich and an additional couple of drops did the trick)
btw...Dr. John Myers was using
Iodine for fibrocystic breasts and fibroid tumors and lots of other stuff including eye problems and brain stuff. I think Jarvis was publishing around the same time, early 1950s, and maybe he used Myer's works......
Actually I think all these people were like us....looking eagerly at what each were doing and getting ideas . Albretch with the soils, Weston Price, Francis Pottenger, Meyers, Beiler, the work on Malabar farms, Rodale and Adelle Davis.....all sharing and looking at what made us healthy.
Jeff...I really do love your site and order regularly from you. I have tremendous respect for Dr. Jarvis and his wise works. You've put together a fabulous resource to study and learn from.
But I think this is a very different world we're in now. It takes a much more aggressive approach to stay healthy. Jarvis's work is a valuable piece of the puzzle but that's it.
