This forum continues to have problems ... and it is not only the fault of moderators ... it is also the fault of those who are sending extremely mixed messages on what moderators should do.
The general idea of moderating any forum is to go by what majority of forum visitors prefer. So, the moderators are to follow the will of majority ... suppose forum members agree and actually have a majority on anything.
We decided to use surveys to find out what is it that members of this forum want.
There are 2 separate surveys asking for your opinion on what and how should moderators act.
One survey (Iodine Forum Opinion Survey 71) was asking only members of the Iodine Forum ... the other survey (CureZone Forums Opinion Survey 171) was asking similar questions, but the whole CureZone (all forums), with similar but separate questions for Support forums and for Debate forums.
So, moderators of this forum should disregard answers from the global Survey (CureZone Forums Opinion Survey 171) and should instead follow the will of people expressed inside the Iodine Forum Opinion Survey 71.
That means that Occasional advertisements ( Iodine special offers ) are allowed inside this forum ... but in the same time, are not allowed in any other forum.
All other questions are not as clear.
Here comes the problem.
People of this forum are sending mixed messages to moderators.
Look at the results answers to the first 2 questions:
Look at the answers given to those questions:
1 | None. Please just leave everything like it is. | 3 of 33 | 9.1% |
|
[1] | |
2 | "Low Level": Just edit bad language [vulgar, indecent, name calling, etc. ], But leave all threads and messages where they were originally. | 11 of 33 | 33.3% |
|
[1] | |
3 | "Medium Level": All from the "Low Level" and also please move flame wars into the Personal Conflicts forum, but leave civilized debates where they are. | 7 of 33 | 21.2% |
|
||
4 | "High Level": All from the "Medium Level" and also please move civilized debates into the Iodine Debate forum | 7 of 33 | 21.2% |
|

Based on the answers given to the 1st question, 7 of 33 (21%) agrees to "High Level" which is generally defined as moving Civilized Debates (suppose there is a such thing on this forum) to the Iodine Debate Forum.
If moderators are to follow answers given to this question ... they should actually leave all "Civilized Debates" inside this forum.
But, gues what?
Look at the answers given on the second question:
1
Moderators should IGNORE debates originating inside The Iodine Support Forum

2
Moderators should MOVE debates to The Iodine Debate Forum

By all means move debates to where they belong BUT please let the group know. When a posts disappear there needs to be a quick explanation.... previous posts moved to debate n/m is fine. Or something like that.

Moderators Should Move Debates if Topic is being Reported by Forum Members, otherwise leave it where it is.
5 of 31
16.1%
Only 9 of 31 people actually think that debates should be left inside the Support forum and 20 of 31(MAJORITY) thinks that debates should be moved, but a message should be left to explain why was it moved ...
As members of this forum obviously aren't able to make up their mind on the level of moderation ... we will go by the rule of "minimum action".
In other words ... all debates will be left inside this forum ... until forum visitors come with some more clear messages on what to do.
So, the instruction to moderators is: "minimum action" : Disregard debates ... until it is clear what forum forum visitors actually want. If visitors are unsure (50:50) or close to it ... we will remain on "minimum action".
The rule of "minimum action" should be applied also whenever 2 moderators disagree.
Example:
Mod 1 thinks a message deserves an "R", while mod 2 thinks a message is not good for an "R". In that case ... "minimum action" means there will be no R.
Mod 1 thinks a message should be hidden, while mod 2 thinks a message should be left. In that case ... "minimum action" means message should be left.
Mod 1 thinks a message should get and "BSA", while mod 2 thinks a message should be an "R". In that case ... "minimum action" means message should be R (R is smaller then BSA).
Any forum visitor who already answered questions inside any survey can re-enter the same survey and can change his answers.
To express your opnion on those 2 questions, please click on the links providied here:
1 | What level of moderation (of the Iodine Support forum) are you comfortable with? What are your preferences? |
2 | Forum Moderation? Should moderators move debate message threads from this forum into the Iodine Debate forum, or should they just ignore them and leave them where they originated? |
PLEASE show me that you are able to understand questions and options and that you are able to answer those 2 questions!
In other words ...
if 60% of you want debates moved to Iodine Debate forum (question #2 ) .. then your selection of the forum moderation level (Question #1) should be: "High Level": All from the "Medium Level" and also please move civilized debates into the Iodine Debate forum
Do I really have to make a video that explains how to do this?
Webmaster
P.S.
I will move back to this forum debates previously removed ... until it is more clear what forum members really prefer (if ever).
P.S.2
Somewhere in the threads, I saw a sentence:
"Elemental Iodine in the large amounts expounded result in tissue injury acidosis and the ultimate finality in progression of death"
Apparently, some people got offended by this sentence.
Unless you actually add a quantity to this sentence, there is absolutely no reason why should anyone get offended.
"large amounts" could mean different quantity for different people . It could mean hundreds of grams ... or hundreds of milligrams .. or just about any other quantity.
Can someone here actually argue that hundreds of grams of pure Iodine will not kill you? We are all adults. We should really not all get mad on sentence that leaves the most important part unspecified.
What is it in people that pushes you to react on messages that are more or less unfinished.
The "poison is in the dose" and in the "individual tolerance of the person exposed".
"One man's bread, another man's dead."
"What kills one, heals another."
Just try to be more tolerant. No need to jump on people who disagree with you. Agree to disagree and move on!
