I am generally healthy, 5”1’, 114 lbs, 49 year old woman with 3 kids. I have confirmed Gallstones with ultrasound. I generally eat well, lots of veggies, water, organic food and have lots of experience with alternative medicine, acupuncture, homeopathy. I have been looking at this site for months and decided it was finally time to go into action after a painful gallbladder attack following eating butter popcorn a few weeks ago. I started a cleansing diet on May 10th. I started taking Paragone on Monday May 16th and after two days of loose stools (with what looked like wormy things), I became constipated. After 5 days of constipation (despite eating large salads, lots of raw veggies, lots of water and herb teas, a head of kale a day, veggie juices), I decided to take one level tablespoon of epsom’s salts in water to get my gut moving (3PM Sunday). I had done this once before with no negative effects. When my gut moved (5PM), I was delighted to see many, many “rice” parasites, some 1-2 inch curved worms, liver flukes, and what looked like Tapeworm pieces (I did my honors thesis in college on rat tapeworms, so have worked with the eggs and live worms). I continued to drink water during this time period to make sure I didn’t get dehydrated. Unlike the last time I took epsom’s salts, I started to become woozy, jittery, and spacy (ate banana and drank OJ to try and replace electrolytes)
By 9:30 PM, I was in the ER, with uncontrollable tremors and was put in a cardiac room. I was vomiting and shaking violently—my electrolytes were so far gone, I would have died if my DH had not taken me to ER. THEY PUT ME IN ICU! My internal organs were all shutting down due to dehydration from the epsoms salts. I was just released from the hospital after 2 days of being on an IV to get my sodium up to normal levels. Can you imagine what would have happened to me had I taken the two doses of epsom’s salts needed for the gallstone flush, which I had considered doing. I am lucky I don’t have permanent kidney damage. Needless to say, I will never put epsom’s salts in me again, and will probably only do longer-term dietary methods of dissolving my gallstones. I want to tell all of you to be careful, we are all different and don’t know how our bodies will respond to what works for other folks. I am posting this on the parasite cleanse forum and the liver cleanse forum. (the sad thing is, the day I went into the hospital, I had ordered herbs from MH and don’t know if I’ll ever be able to take them……..).

This is a reply to # 475,310That is so strange. I've almost died while doing parasite cleansing, too! I'm wondering if the Epsom Salts caused you to release too many parasites at once for your body to handle...?
There have been a few times now that I have almost died while cleansing parasites, and it's always from low electrolytes. Like you, I've been rushed to the ER feeling delirious, projectile vomiting, blindness and seizures from low electrolites.
It makes me so scared to cleanse these parasites out of me, even though I don't see any other option! For me, even just an alkalizing diet of raw veggies, veggie juices and wheatgrass is enough to make my electrolytes go wacky from what I can only guess is heavy detox (since I get so many other detox reactions along with it). You'd think my electrolytes would be great taking in so much nutritous food!
I know it's some weird detox reaction, because often when I come back from the hospital, or finish up an intense cleanse like this, and am not on the intense diet or herbs, I feel MUCH better than I did before the cleanse!
So I know I have to do this again. But I'm scared! I don't want to die while trying to get well!
Until now I've never heard of anyone else having the same experience.

This is a reply to # 475,324hello miss scarletwhiskers :) i wanted to write you and find out about your health issues prior to the near death experiences with parasite cleansing. i am on the cleanse- started today- and i know i will be fine on it. but my mom is considering doing it and she has a very toxic body. she has Amalgams in her mouth, a few root canals, extreme allergies to food, environment, chemicals, etc... i am in massage school and began massaging her and she gets sick sometimes after massage (from all the lymph being moved around- and the toxins getting dislodged i am sure). she tried this intense probiotic that was supposed to eradicate all toxins or something and she got nauseaus and threw up. i don't want her to try this parasite cleanse and have a similar situation to you. could you let me know how toxic you were to begin with.
also- anyone else out there...are there milder cleanses you'd suggest for someone super toxic? i know my mom needs to cleanse. i just don't want it to require a trip to the hospital :(

This is a reply to # 475,331As far as heavy metals and other kinds of toxins, I am really clean. However, I think I have a really intense parasite issue and I need to go really slowly. I am aware of the warning signs of low electrolites, so I will keep an eye on it and continue to take lots of electrolite supplements as well as fresh veggie juices and a raw veggie diet.
I got sick a few months after getting a cat who had a Tapeworm when I got her. I treated her for the tapeworm, but who knows what else she has. Who knows what I have? All I know is that two different EDS (Electro Dermal Skin testing) practitioners have diagnosed me with a parasite/yeast problem.
My hardest thing right now is STAYING on the 100% raw veggie diet. Not so much because it isn't satysfying, but more because I get alarmed by the detox reactions.
Just because I react like this doesn't mean others will. I believe that if your mineral reserves are already running dangerously low you are more likely to get this kind of reaction while cleansing.
When the body cleanses it is expelling acids from the system. The body need minerals to bind with the acids in order to neutrilize them and carry them out of the body. If there are too many acids being released at once, the body may not have enough mineral reserves to neutrilize the acids and your electrolites plummet to a dangerous level.
If your mom is having serious detox reactions, then just slow the process down. So long as she is going in the right direction...

This is a reply to # 475,324Hi all...I just wanted to add my hospital experience while parasite cleansing. I've been battling these things for a few years. I'm much better now than before, but I still have a big parasite problem. Two years ago, I was doing all I could think of to try to kill these things. I was frantic to get them out of me. I was on the arise and shine colon cleanse, and taking anti-parasitic herbs (put together by a herbalist here, I think it contained- Wormwood , quassia, male fern, pomegranate and wormseed). I took all fruit and carbohydrates out of my diet, and ate raw vegan. I've been vegan for many years so it wasn't that, but not raw, or without fruit.
I felt panicky and high strung...but the parasites make me feel like that anyhow. I was seeing evidence of them dying, so I kept thinking that any day now, I should get out a bunch of them. Didn't happen. Then, one afternoon, after having some avocados and veggie juice, my heart started pounding like crazy, my vision went blurry and I was very faint. I couldn't move. I ended up in the ER. I don't know about my electrolytes, but my heart rhythum was not normal, my blood pressure dropped to something like 90/60. Is that electroltyes? It was very scarey (as you know).
I don't know why this happens...but, for my own situation, I think what happened was the amount of congestion in the liver was blocking blood flow back to the heart and it gave symptoms of a heart attack. Don't know, but that's my feeling. I know it wasn't a reaction to the herbs, or the diet...it was the parasites kicking up some kind of fight. This was also prior to Liver Flushing for me, so I was much more congested.
Anyway, my blood pressure went back up after a while, and all returned to normal. But they wouldn't let me leave until they observed me for a day.
So....if you got a lot of parasites it's not easy to get rid of them! I go pretty slow now, which is okay, but sometimes I wonder if I'm getting anywhere at all...but, I can't go any quicker, just hope it all works that's all!
Anyway, just wanted to share...the ER visits you two had were even worse...sorry you had that happen.

This is a reply to # 475,310Re above .What a horrible story.I hope you are better now.As I had been ill for so long with ME[CFS]I was very worried about taking Epsom Salts , so started by taking teaspoon doses at first.I found that 1 tablespoon would be far too much for me and now use only 1 dessertspoon doses for my Liver Flush program. I have now done 4 flushes and have got out pink 'shrimpy' flukes, rice like eggs and lots of stones some wraped around flukes.I have more energy and feel better in my head. However all the way through the Liver Flush process I have been drinking glases of water with a big pinch of Sea Salt .I was aware of the danger of leaching out minerals from the body and keep a few sachets of electrolyte solution just in case.Could you have had a severe mineral imbalance to start with? Did you do a comprehensive parasite cleanse first? I think both things would make a difference, but I am not a therapist.Hope you sort it out and get well.Love Deotima.

This is a reply to # 475,327Very interesting,both messeges, since I am concidering, both cleasnses,I would go along with using less epson salts at first and also having pediolite or something close to that on hand,since everyone is so different. When I have a headache or muscle pain I take a baby dose of pain killers .That always worked for me.THese posts were extremely helpful.Thanks Love this site.it is my home page

This is a reply to # 475,310hodgy, there is a reason your body is giving you these reactions that only an experienced nutritionist can reveal. For this reason, I would take it slow. Instead of doing a parasite cleanse once or twice a day- maybe just do it in one small dose every four days. Mh's dewormer doesnt have any Epsom Salts in it. The herbs wont lower your electrolytes. Go slow with it though if you are afraid. Take a teaspoon instead of a tablespoon. Take it once a day instead of twice.
I would not worry about using Epsom Salts in your case. You can dissolve the stones with Lecithen capsules-- and by cutting out animal fats in your diet. The Liver Flush just gets the stones out faster- but if you can be patient, they will dissolve themselves with Lecithan and cutting out animal fats in your diet.
Do not be afraid to use olive oil in your diet instead of animal fats. Olive oil is one of the few oils that actually LOWER cholesteral-whereas the other good plant oils wont lower or increase it.

I have done some anti parasites herbs 'overdose' more than a couple of times and the die-off was way too strong and I was afraid my kidneys would suffer so I drank lots of water, but it seemed to go through my body, then I started taking olive oil (2 Tablespoons), lemon juice(2), 1 garlic clove , 3-4 times a day , and suddenly i felt a spasm around my liver (not painful), then went to the toilet...
After getting rid of a great load of foul smelling stuff, I noticed 15-20 emerald green Gallstones in the feces...
I was very confused, so after a few days, I did it again and the result was just about the same..
So, it's a very good idea to start taking (a single dose of) one half Tbspn of Olive oil daily for a week, to start the liver/gallbladder on a mild exercise routine.. this dose can be increased during the week up to 3 times a day..
the liver/gall will get a mild training in squeezing without much force, so no pain will be generated, but it will serve for gaining strength in the affected organs, for better performance in the future..

Brankey and Boldyloxx-- I like your ideas and when I'm stronger will try a daily dose of olive oil, lemon juice, garlic (sounds like what I put on my salads). I just saw my osteopath and fortunately did not suffer any kidney or heart damage. When I'm stronger, I will re-start (probably with MH Dewormer) at half doses, and not go near the ES. I have some chanca piedra and will use that to crush the stones. My ultrasound showed one large gallstone (but we all know that are tons of small ones that did not show up). I'm continuing to expell parasites, despite my return to normal bowel movements and cessation of the herbs. I'm amazed at how well the anti-parasitic herbs work-- thanks to everyone at this site.

This is a reply to # 475,310You're pretty stupid to be randomly selecting things that YOU feel are going to help you when you obviously don't understand your problem or what you're trying to acomplish.
Why the heck would you take 1 level tablespoon of epsome salts to relieve a 5 day eposode of constipation? And now you think it's the Epsom Salts fault right? It's people like you that give the MD's at the hospital ammo to point out how bad and dangerous natural or alternative remedies are. But I'm sure if you read on a website instructions how to surgically remove your gallbladder you might run into some problems if you try to do it yourself as well don't ya' think? Talk to a professional who understands this type of care (Natropath, Chiropractor, nutritionist, etc...) and is trained to give advice before you start taking spoonfuls of Epsom Salts for constipation or doing anything else stupid. Because obviously you don't have an understanding on how these things work.
Oh by the way Epsom Salts need to be taken at a threshold dose on an empty GI tract. The high dose causes the GI absorption to shut down and flush the salts out the other end. Your constipation would block the flow and also prevent total GI absorption shutdown. So now instead of passing through you, all this magnesium sulphate if pouring directly into your body, instead of through it!
