I, too, have experienced amazingly-crazy mucoid plaque. Yes, some of it is the psyllium plumped up...but I have to say that stuff clears you out! I did the B&P's for about 50 days and my tummy got flatter and flatter...and at the beginning I had these long horrific black 'ropes'...but nearing the end I only got out these tiny wee frond-like pieces! very very odd, I tell you! But very satisfying too. I was still taking 3 B&P's daily when I got out the teeeny tiny bits...so that's something!

Also...take a look at the second link below...it includes a story where my boyfriend, after Day4 of taking the B&P's pooed out a 1974 penny that he had swallowed 26 years earlier!!! Nuts eh? We rolled on the floor laughing over that one...couldn't believe it. That penny had been stuck somewhere in his intestines for 26 years!!!

The retarded thing is...we have two friends that are doctors - one a gastroenterologist and they both said, "that could not have happened..there is no where for the penny to hide" !!! Brock said, "Well it DID happen!!" I mean, jeez....those doctors are brainwashed obviously! They just parroted the exact same thing! (there's 26 feet of small intestine and 5 feet of large intestine by the way...all squished into a very small space...so I'd think there's plenty of places that penny could have hid!! nuts.

Anyway....do the B&P's yourself...that is the only way. Experiment and see what works for you.

2 weeks ago...and I did report it here on Shelley's forum and other forums. I couldn't believe it. I think the colonic I had loosened it up and it came right on out 5 days after my colonic. Psyllium and Bentonite doesn't create black ropes. That's one the dumbest things I've ever heard. Mucoid plaque is hard; you cannot pick up regular excrement; it easily breaks apart.

I don't have any scientific background, so I'm not really sure what evidence you need. I do know that there are several books written by doctors about bowel health (see Zule's post above). I also would imagine that there is documented evidence of mucoidal plaque, but it is probably not something that is going to pop up on a simple google search. Maybe you should try the medical databases?

Why would they jump?

Researchers would risk loss of grant revenue, much of which comes from drug companies. Due to changes within the healthcare system, most research, even at the major medical institutions is funded by outside sources. Academic medicine is becoming a dinosaur.

You may want to consider what the other members of the healthcare industry will lose if this type of issue is accepted.

Do you remember how long it took the GI medical community to allow the idea of infectious disease origin of ulcers?
Veterinarians had been treating ulcers in pigs[pigs are considered to have a humanlike physiology which is why in a basic human anatomy course a student is likely to have to dissect a pig] with Antibiotics since the 30s. A major western GI doc with absolute tons of research data won prizes for his research in Europe, while here in the US they kept calling him a quack and refused to let him come to conferences,etc. Journals would not touch his data for at least 15 years. Those journal editors were hesitant, possibly because they would risk losing their ad revenues from the pharmaceutical companies, to publish the data.

One aspect about western style research to consider in terms of evaluating its validity and reliability is the fluidity of numbers. I am no numbers genius, but even a basic stats class indicated to me how easily the interpretation of numbers can be manipulated.

Also, did you know that many of the western style medical research is done by folks without much training in research methodology, even at major medical institutions. Those research fellowships do not require research courses or even statistics courses? :?

Western medical research and data publication have their place in health care delivery, but their results are not the entire picture by any means.

i've searched far and wide for any peered reviewed research in reputable journals on mucoid plaque and have come up empty handed. however, i doubt that's because no one's done the research. it is more likely that any research is old (no medical researcher will waste their time on research that won't net them a new wing on their facility or a chair on an advisory board these days) and buried in some dusty medical journal from 50 years ago. researchers today who actually research are underfunded and often independent. the vast majority are "research for hire", working on behalf of corporations looking to prove (or disprove) some theory to benefit their bottom line.

this is the sad state of our traditional medical system, people. there is no money to be made in "discovering" mucoid plaque, except for the Bentonite miners maybe, and they must not have a strong lobbying arm. just like there's no money in finding a PREVENTION for cancer, but lordamighty, look at the money to be made in CURING cancer!!! it's all about the money.

So I can't give you "proof" that I exist, only a theory that I do exist based on the evidence at hand. Of course this theory could change given new evidence that supports my non-existence.
