I inherited my house and a few acres, I can't imagine living any place else. To give you an idea of how out in the country I am, its a five mile drive on a very rough road to get to the pavement and drive nearly five more miles to town. The largest town in the county is less than 2,000 people. There are no railroads, taxis, buses, or stop lights in this area. Also, no Mc Donalds, Burger King, or KFC for almost thirty miles. There is no hospital, but we do have a tiny Walmart-the social hub of the county!
As soon as my back heals I want to plant a garden and get some more laying hens. That's the best part of country living, growing your own food. Right now, all I can manage is a few tomato plants.
