like i told you,. posting scripture is the best thing you have ever done. too bad you dont understand a damn word of it.
like today, matthew 18. you think youre god, dont you? you read that from from jesus perspective and put yourself in his place, dont you? thats a rhetorical question because i know you do. you wield the word of god like your own personal sword. and you thin you re doing it right.
well, you forgot on little teeny tiny part in all that. you forgat to be a child yourself. you forgot to obey christ and be born again. you just take on this perrsona like yorue god and have all his words at your disposal.
well, i got news for you. im probably the first person youve come across who has walked out the scriptures and understand them properly. so you and your friends can look at me and what i say and think im wrong and not give it a care.
well, like i said, a regenerated person can detect a non-regenerated fake like you just like a person who is all bathed and clean can detect someone who hasnt had a bath in a month. and trust me, i am one who has gone longer than a month without a bath and you cant tell that you need one, really. you get used to the filth, the putrid smells and you cant see the grime on your face without a mirror. you seem fine to yourself.

i have come to these forums many times in the past with childlike enthusiasm for talking about the lord and the the things of the lord and his word. each time i was driven off. scared and defensive, everyone here couldnt stand someone on the path. you rejected this child. well, ive grown up. and if you are now offended, you should be. humble yourself and i will change my tune. but you seek no mercy. you seek no grace. you feel your cup is full and running over. what you have done is dug yourself a pit.
you cant read gods word like your above it all. you have to read gods word like youre the worst offender. like every word is a barb of correction, a stripe unto the disobedient.
but thats not what christians are taught to do. they are taught to live according to the flesh using the bible as their justification. for gods sake, look at history. what has that gotten anyone?

This is a reply to # 2,384,962Child-like in the sense of following any way your curiosity takes you seems more correct in this case. You will look under every rock (instead focusing on the Rock) to find any Conspiracy that seems tantalizing for the moment. You seem to bore easy and yes, the plain and simple basics of christianity can be boring to hear over and over again for some people. Most Christians know the basics and agree on them. Then we move forward and talk about other biblical concepts unless someone comes in and is a babe in christ or is not sure about this whole believing in Christ idea, then we go back to the basics once again for that person's sake. Nothing wrong with that.-

Responding to a question from the Pharisees about when the Kingdom of God would come, Jesus said, “The kingdom of God does not come with observation; nor will they say, ‘See here!’ or ‘See there!’ For indeed, the kingdom of God is within you” (Luke 17:20-21). The first part of Jesus’ answer has been fairly easy to understand. Misunderstanding regarding the latter part however, has given many an incomplete picture of the Kingdom.
When Jesus came to earth, the Jews were looking for the Messiah to come and elevate the Jewish nation to prominence. Instead of hearing a message of repentance, they anticipated a Deliverer who would lead them in a successful liberation of their nation. And some of the religious authorities apparently believed that they—because of their careful investigation—would be the ones to first discover the promised Savior’s coming.
In the above-noted passage, Jesus told the Pharisees that their thinking was mistaken. Jesus’ first coming was to preach “the gospel of the kingdom of God” (Mark 1:14-15) and pay the penalty for mankind’s sins. Later, He would “appear a second time … for salvation” (Hebrews 9:28) and the establishment of the Kingdom of God here on earth.
How Jesus said the Kingdom of God would come
When Jesus returns, there will indeed be dramatic signs that all will be able to discern (Matthew 24:5-14, 21-27; Revelation 1:7). But in saying, “The kingdom of God does not come with observation; nor will they say, ‘See here!’ or ‘See there!’” (Luke 17:20-21), Jesus was explaining to the Pharisees of that generation that, in spite of their meticulous efforts, their mistaken understanding would not allow them to identify the Messiah’s first coming.
Furthermore, they would not see the astonishing signs of His second coming—the signs for which they were looking. As Jesus noted, His second coming would be in another “day” (verse 24)—a time period long after the Pharisees to whom He was speaking had lived and died.
After telling the Pharisees that they wouldn’t be able to observe the coming of the Kingdom of God in the way they had anticipated, He said, “For indeed, the kingdom of God is within you” (verse 21).
In this passage, entos (the Greek word that is translated “within”) can also be translated “in the midst of” (Vine’s Complete Expository Dictionary of Old and New Testament Words). The New American Standard Bible, the New International Version, the Modern King James Version and Green’s Literal Translation translate this phrase “in your midst.” In this sense, Jesus, the King of the coming Kingdom of God, was standing in the midst of the Pharisees. These translations are clearly better, for the Kingdom of God was not in the hearts of these Pharisees.
Living by the laws of the Kingdom
So what about the concept of the Kingdom of God being in our hearts? The Scriptures show that this subject should be on our minds. After all, we are supposed to pray for the Kingdom to come (Matthew 6:10) and Jesus told us to “seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness” (verse 33).
When we repent of our sins, are baptized and begin following the lead of the Holy Spirit, we voluntarily place ourselves under the laws and authority of the coming Kingdom of God.
Describing this process, Paul, who was being held prisoner in Rome at the time, explained, “He [God, the Father] has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love” (Colossians 1:13). So there is a sense of us being symbolically “conveyed,” “translated” (King James Version) or “transferred” (English Standard Version) into the Kingdom when we commit our lives to God and begin living as He instructs.
Our primary allegiance is transferred from all kingdoms of this world to God’s Kingdom. We are then subject to different laws (God’s laws) and belong to a different community (the Church of God).
The Holy Spirit helps us obey God’s laws. This spirit “of power and of love and of a sound mind” (2 Timothy 1:7) gives us the ability to live by God’s laws even though we are still human with human weaknesses. Those who are led by the Spirit of God are called the “sons of God” (Romans 8:14). This same spirit empowers the Church to fulfill its commission. In this sense, we have the opportunity to taste or experience “the powers of the age to come” (Hebrews 6:4-5).
How we can enter the Kingdom of God
Even though the Bible speaks of our “citizenship” as being in heaven after we are baptized (Philippians 3:20), in order to enter the Kingdom of God, humans must be changed from flesh and blood into spirit, from mortal into immortal, at Jesus’ second coming (1 Corinthians 15:50-53; Hebrews 9:28). When the Kingdom of God comes to earth, it will rule over all the “kingdoms of this world” (Revelation 11:15).
Unfortunately, in reading Jesus’ statement that “the kingdom of God is within you,” many have mistakenly limited the Kingdom of God to a philosophical perspective or a way of thinking. In reality, the coming Kingdom of God is far more than what is in the hearts and minds of Jesus’ followers. In fact, it is the Kingdom that God’s faithful elect will enter at Christ’s return and that will be established here on earth.

Why would I do that? You are entitled to your beliefs, as I am entitled to disagree with you without coming to blows over our differences. That's a subtlety that trapper has yet to grasp.
But yes, it is perfectly true that I'm utterly mystified by many aspects of a post-advent earthly kingdom. I simply put it to you that you must have an inadequate appreciation of the glory that will be on display on that day if you can imagine, even for one second, a scenario in which unregenerate humans not only manage somehow to 'survive' His appearing (contrary to virtually every NT pronouncement on the subject), but also remain unregenerate for the best part of a 1,000 years despite the personal attendance of Him who dwells in ineffable glory.
So let me see if I've got this right - again. Satan has been bound, right? Jesus' glory is on full display for all to see, right? So what exactly is stopping everybody from falling on their knees and confessing Him as Lord and Saviour, leaving aside the fact that you are also now in 'second chance' territory? Who could resist this unhindered display of divine love and majesty, let alone want to?
You have never adequately addressed this basic flaw in your scheme. Yet we are asked to believe that not only does such a situation obtain in your millennium, but this hostile horde stubbornly continues in suppressed rebellion to Messiah's reign right to the very end, when they finally reveal themselves in open revolt and an organised onslaught on the camp of the saints! Only divine intervention (yet again) saves the day, and prevents a complete fiasco.
And this is your idea of a paradise on earth is it? If you think I'm exaggerating in the portrayal I have presented above, I can give you upwards of 20 quotes from authors who are recognised advocates of your views that paint just such a picture, and a lot worse besides. But if that is what passes for God's kingdom in your beliefs, you are more than welcome to them sis. Just don't be too surprised when you find out that what you believed to be yet future turns out to have been fulfilled before He appears again.
Now I bet you wish you hadn't mentioned the melniemuinmmllm.

This is a reply to # 2,385,011I believe it only to be temporary. 1000 years only seems like a long time. We will have our glorified bodies by then because we will change in a twinkling of an eye when we meet Him in the air. So there will be no hardships for those that are in Christ.
You have already quoted authors to me and I didn't agree with their ideas when I read them anymore than I do trapper's I'm afraid. My right to do. I read my bible many years ago when I came to this belief. I was not affiliated with a church or any religious person at the time. And no study book to fall back on. Oh I'm sure I did pick up a few ideas along the way through the years that helped put a few pieces together for me, but my understanding is still basically the same today. So I'm not worried about it.
I don't think anyone will be thinking to themselves... whether refreshed is squirming right now because she was wrong. lol I think we will be focused on Him completely when He returns and whatever He does or says we will be so enthralled that nothing else will matter. :)- Re: matthew 18 trapper/kcmo

No doubt, but it will matter to those who say to themselves - 'I think I'll wait till this glorious milemnmiumn arrives before I make a decision about Jesus. I'll have plenty of time in which to accept Him as my saviour, so what's the urgency?'
What's the urgency? Why don't you help us out here refreshed? Why does anybody need to confess the name that is above every name now when they will have an entire millennium in which to make that decision? And with Jesus Himself present in all His resplendant glory?
Put another way, I think I'll renounce my Christian faith now a la trapper as the work of the devil, then after Jesus returns I'll be able to decide if he was right all along, and we were all just a bunch of asinine idiots fumbling around in a sea of darkness of our own making.
Now tell me why that may not be such a bright idea if you can. But if you can't be troubled coz you've always believed thus, then by all means continue believing it.

This is a reply to # 2,385,060The dead in Christ have risen and those that are alive will see Him. A second chance is only if you already died and are raised to live again to "try" again. We are only talking about those that are alive. Why would seeing Him disqualify you in believing at the last minute any more than believing in Him on your death bed before you die?
