I've been sick for years and therefore trying to heal for years, the last 20 years to be exact. I've tried a lot of things during that time. I'll be 60 in 9 days. I have been dx'd with SIBO so I do not believe I can ever be healed by diet alone. I did a 10 day water fast, and also took the special
Antibiotics but I am not well.
I have come to the conclusion that I need to target the bacteria/inflammation with other than diet because despite being gluten-free, sugar-free, dairy-free, I am not really well. I still have colon polyps and currently have a large nasal polyp in my right nostril and my thyroid has one large nodule and many small ones. I have
food allergies and environmental allergies and have a headache daily with swollen bags under my eyes. My bowel movements are normal though and so is my weight and I'm not on any medicines besides the migraine excedrin I take daily. When I gave up the food I was the most allergic to, which was dairy, the severe constipation was gone. However, because of the SIBO and
food allergies , I cannot eat a lot of healthy foods...raw kefir being the one that I miss the most.
The point of this post is...when you have SIBO, you really cannot be cured by diet alone nor by supplements to heal the lining. My diet is so limited that I cannot even eat vegetables or fruit, which leaves me with lettuce, eggs and meat. Even ACV is suspect as bothering me. My
food allergies change like the wind too.
There has to be something else. I just bought Buhner's book on Herbal
Antibiotics hoping that I can come up with some herbal that I can take daily for the rest of my life to quell the inflammation that the SIBO is causing because the diet is just a temporary fix. It's not the gluten, nor the grains..the diet doesn't stop the inflammation in the background. When I took the special
Antibiotics , NOTHING I ate bothered me so that tells me the bacteria are wreaking havoc on my digestive system. Can you take an herbal
Antibiotic long term without consequences though? Is there something I've missed that works?
