short history: as a teen, i ate lots of produce that weren't properly washed. I think i contracted some sort of worm without knowing for years. Since age 16, i was severely and chronically constipated and had severe bloating that got worse with time. I had no clue about the cause until summer of 2014, which i read about candida, which i had symptoms of. So i took anti fungal herbs such as pau d' arco, garlic, ginger, cayenne pepper, and capyrlic acid. These herbs induced bowel movements for me when i took them in large amounts (about a bottle of 100 capsules a day!), so i thought i had candida overgrowth until about two weeks ago when i suspected of worms instead. Now, most antifungal herb are dewormers too, so now i thought it might be the cause.
The antifungals worked great for me but i noticed it became immune to it after a day or two, so i read about diatomaceous earth which many claimed parasites and candida could NEVER grow immune to. So i took diatomaceous earth (3 tablespoons a day), and for the first time ever in my life - the parasites scattered from my intestines to the rest of my body!! I felt during the first few days wiggling down and up my legs and then they moved to my lymph nodes in my armpits and then to my scalp and neck and my face!
Now they bite my legs, arms, neck, back, and it really hurts! it hurts to even walk now! I have stopped the diatomaceous earth after about a week of taking it. Also, the DE hasn't induced bowel movements for me at all - they have actually caused me to severely constipated, even though i drink a lot of water. I just ordered some generic albendazole from overseas.
So the message is: be warned about diatomaceous earth if you have parasites, especially a pretty severe infection like mine! No other antifungal/antiworm herb i've tried have made the parasites migrate, even in insanely high amounts,, but the diatomaceous earth has! i think this is because the diatomacoues earth has slight anti-parasitic properties that works very slowly instead of killing them likely chemically like the other herbs.Another theory i have is that since the parasites can't grow immune to DE< they defend themselves by migrating instead of growing immune to it.
So be warned! Also, if you have experience/observations about Diatomaceous earth as a dewormer (either successful or not) , please share!

This is a reply to # 2,237,857Scattering is a pretty classic response to any parasite cleanses of most calibers. Weather DE, herbal or even prescription....Some can cross the brain barrier some can't...some are more effective then others...it's a matter of opinion on what you take and how.
I'm sorry you were caught off guard...having parasites wriggle around your body is NEVER fun, and quite the moral crusher! There are ways to kill them though so be of good cheer! Though it sucks!!

This is a reply to # 2,237,987Thanks for the reply, but scattering is not a necessary part of eradication process ( i thought it was, which is why i continued DE for a week until stopping). In fact, scattering means that the substance annoyed the parasites but did not kill them, so they migrated to somewhere safe. Scattering makes the eradication process all the more difficult because there are few dewormers that are systemic, and even those would be hard to reach other parts of the body due to having to travel.

This is a reply to # 2,238,795What type of parasite did you have? Which of ICU's protocols finally cured you once and for all of your parasites? And this is an odd question, but what was your starting weight at the beginning of treatment and your end weight now that you have completed treatment? Did you gain weight? How is your chloresterol and triglycerides now as opposed to pre-treatment?
Please share which drugs cured you.

I have not completed treatment yet, but am following ICU's albendazole protocol with (so far) success. I can't thank ICU enough.
i think i have the common roundworm as before i took the DE, i had no symptoms except bowel obstruction and bloating. I lived a normal life for 6 years with the worms and didn't know their existence for that time. The DE scattered the monsters all over my body (even my brain and eyes!). It was a nightmare. If you have roundworms, i highly recommend that you try ICU's abendazole protocol. I have read peer reviewed papers, and they confirm her protocol as aligned with accurate and most recent research.
AND STAY AWAY FROM DIATOMACEOUS EARTH AND OTHER HERBS THAT MAY SCATTER THEM FROM THE INTESTINES!!
I don't see how your question about pre and post body weight is relevant to this issue. Body fat percentage is caused by caloric defecit/surplus, unless you want to know the weight of the parasites that were expelled during the treatment. However, this variable is almost impossible to isolate unless you directly weigh the expelled parasites.
However, albendazole is bioavailable only when take with a lot of fat (40 grams), and therefore its use may require one to gain weight due to high caloric density of fats.
As i am only 22, i don't measure chloresterol and triglycerides, so can't comment on that.- Re: Bugged out

Haha, the reason I asked about your weight and cholesterol/triglyceride levels is because that's a hell of a lot of fat to be eating on a daily basis for 2+ weeks. Personally, I don't want to have to buy a new wardrobe for my newly obtained fat ass to be able to fit into. Also, heart health! Liver and kidney function! These are all things that can be affected by so much fat intake and dangerously high levels of pharmaceuticals. They don't put those drug inserts in the package just so you have something to read --- it's their legal hand washing of responsibility when someone has a bad reaction. These are very very high doses. EVERY BODY IS DIFFERENT. That is why not all drugs and supplements are appropriate for every body.
Oh, and I've been taking DE for a year now. It is amazing and a godsend for me. It literally changed my life for the better, but I would never claim it's for everyone. You had a bad reaction from overdoing it. Start out slow and work your way up. Three tablespoons a day was too much, as you now know.
Please stop with the scare tactics. YOU had a bad experience. Don't paint us all with the same broad brush. I'm ever grateful for the people on CZ recommending DE. It was that alone that proved I had parasites and not just a yeast infection, which was the sole reason I started the DE. By day 3 on DE I had a BM that was entirely made up of intact worms and flukes. If I ever feel bad, DE is my go to. I've turned many friends and family onto it and they have improved health from it as well. I'm not cured, but I'm 90% better than I was a year ago and the only pharma I've used is Pyrantel and not very much of that because I worry about my liver and kidneys. Her protocols may be a godsend for some people but they have also have permanently hurt others.
Lesson here is not every protocol works for every body. All bodies are different and react differently. If you were allergic to peanut butter would you scream to the heavens that no one should eat it??- Re: To Health

This is a reply to # 2,239,324if people who sell DE claims that it works by cutting and slice worms, how could it be that it would NOT cut and slice your GI tract? Remember that ascarsis is the giant roundworm and is thick and long. If it could slice ascarsis, it could slice your GI tract lining, causing leaky gut.

This is a reply to # 2,239,378It's the same reason no one slices their foot open when they walk on a sandy beach. DE makes small incisions in the exoskeleton by abrasion. Once the insides of the worm are exposed they become desiccated and die. Its the drying out that kills them. It's not slicing and dicing like some kind of food processor... Try this, mix a tbsp with just enough water to form a paste and use it as a facial mask. Wait for it to dry and then wash off. Yes, it's a mild exfoliant, but it's not going to cut you open.
If you're really toxic or are taking other things at the same time you should start off slow, like 1/2 tsp a day and work up from there. One tablespoon a day is a standard dose, but during a cleanse I may take up to 3 tbsp a day. I took it daily for about 8 months and now only use it as maintainence a few times a week or whenever I don't feel well.

This is a reply to # 2,239,400thanks for the response, and while your explanation is very logical and true, i would like to argue that while walking on sand doesn't slice and dice your feet, over time it does damage the skin on your feet. First it would serve as an exfoliator and then rub more off until your feet are skinned.
i admit it was my fault for overdosing on DE, but it is NOT harmless, as most people online claim it to be. I overdosed sometimes taking 1/2 cup of diatomacous earth (lower doses were not working for me), so that could be why. If i didn't have parasites, this would be okay. But if you have parasites, it would cause leaky gut and the worms would scatter all over your body! It really shouldn't used as a dewormer for this reason.- Re: Bugged out

This is a reply to # 2,239,432Half a cup??!!! Wow. No wonder you had a bad reaction. It's been used for a very long time on both people and animals. I researched the crap out of DE before I started on it because I an a very cautious person who doesn't take unnecessary risks. This is the same reason I've never tried an ICU protocol. Stop saying no one should use it! You don't know what you are talking about! It's fine to say it didn't work for you, but why would you try to convince others not to use it when it has done wonders for them??!! You sound bitter. I had a terrible reaction to Oxypowder , but I know I'm in the minority so I have never come to CZ espousing that no one should ever use it ever again because of my bad experience. Like I said, you sound bitter because you admittedly overdid the DE by taking 3 tbsp to half a cup at a time. Do some research on it or just be like Elsa and let it go, but either way you need to step down from your soapbox. Educate yourself before you start bashing. If you had done your research you would have known how much to take and would have never taken as much as you did. Everything in moderation!!! Yeah i know i shouldn't have taken so much, but many of these DE advocates say it is harmless, and that while it can slice and dice worms, they can't harm your GI tract lining. That too is BS. Moderation is key, but they say " it is better to take more DE than too little of it" and stuff like " you can't have enough DE" . That is BS.
I post not to bash, but to warn others.
You are very uneducated yourself if you are in heavy parasite burden and refuse to try ICU's protocols. Her protocols are confirmed by scientific research. Her choice of Rx drugs are all drugs of choice because they have great results in research.- Re: Bugged out

This is a reply to # 2,239,629Where are you getting your info about DE from? It is very safe, but few supplements are harmless and can easily be misused. Water is very safe until you submerge your head and try to inhale. Should we warn everyone to stop using water? There has to be some individual responsibility to use common sense. I've never heard anyone say to use more DE than less. The standard dose is 1 tbsp per day. How did you miss that during your research? I've said this before, but I guess it bears repeating: Every body is different and requires different treatments. It didn't work for you. That's totally acceptable. Try something else.

...I'll need you to provide citation for that statement. I'm not questioning 'which' drugs are used, that's common knowledge. I want you to cite the reference for her particular protocols, most notably the dosage levels and duration of treatment. Please add links from Pub Med or whichever medical journal you found it. That there is scientific research for her selection of drugs means that those drugs are safe and effective. The reason they are HER protocols is that she modified the dosage.
And standard dose of DE is 1 tablespoon per 50 pound of body weight.
The fact that diaomaceous earth is harmful at higher dosages means that the mechanism it uses to kill pests and parasites is NOT harmless to humans (as claimed); it will just take higher doses to do he same damage to humans.
Even you yourself said that you take the DE now only whenever you are sick. You yourself cannot be an example of long term use.

This is a reply to # 2,239,838With d.e. I suspect it can also have effects if one has leaky gut. It doesn't seem like microscopic glass would be healthy with leaky gut. If there were studies done on that it would be interesting to see. Also since it goes through the gi system it can be assumed it doesn't work systemically like some drugs do meaning it wouldn't have as much effectiveness as a drug that goes systemically if there's stuff outside a person's gi tract their trying to fight off.

Sounds like user error to me. Hopefully this is a dumb question, but you were sure to use Pure Food Grade only?
I have been taking it daily for almost 3 weeks now. I started with 1/2 tsp and worked up to 2 tbsp. daily (morning and night). I now am on day 5 of my juice/water fasting (trying for 30 days total) so I have slowed down on the DE some just as a precaution. It has helped me a ton with expelling critters! I also put it in my cat's food (started with 1/4 tsp in her moist food at night, now I give her 1/2 tsp only once a day).
My cat was really sick when she was a kitten. She had a severe URI and almost did not make it. She was 1 pound 3 ounces and would not eat. Luckily, the vet was able to save her. Now she is normal weight and healthy, but she always has respiratory issues, walking around sounding like she is stuffed up and having to sniffle to breath. 2 weeks on the DE and her sniffles are gone! She does still has running/watery eyes.
That being said, everyone's experience is different and I think CZ is about sharing experiences of our own healing journeys to help others during theirs and finding support, whether those experience are positive or negative. So if you had the negative experience, then okay.

This is a reply to # 2,237,857I wanted to let you know that you may be using too much of the DE. I am poor so even getting the $10 over the counter medication can take a couple of weeks and forget about seeing the dr. I am very sensitive to DE. I went against the advise of others and only use a pinch in my coffee in the am. My abdomen also hurts so I also use Rantadine. I like sushi, and I live in a flea infested area of the country, so I need to treat regularly. I usually feel better in a couple of days, but I'll treat myself continually for 5 weeks after that once a month with the DE. It is probably not what a dr would recommend, but I feel more comfortable.

You took WAY TOO much diatomaceous eart at once! you have to gradualy increase you cant start off with 3 tablespoons! you have to start with hald a teaspoon and work your way up and if you dont have bowel movements everyday take the diatomaceous earth with camu camu powder its high in vitamine C just take a little dash of it not even half a teaspoon its really strong! your body will take the vitamine C it need and will expulse the rest diharea.. you should of did some research before starting with diatomaceous earth
